Mycotoxins in Ruminants
Ruminants are less impacted by mycotoxins due to the ability of rumen microbiota to deactivate the toxins. However, not all mycotoxins are metabolized to non-toxic components. Moreover, calves don’t have a fully functioning rumen yet, so the effects of mycotoxins in calves can be higher. Different mycotoxins have a synergistic and/or additive effect on each other, increasing the overall risk, which may impact performances of ruminants.
ANIMAL PERFORMANCEAnimal performance is reliant on maintenance of a healthy mineral status. Trace minerals are therefore an essential nutrient for production animals. Performance, organic trace minerals have a high bioavailability and maintain healthy mineral status.
MOULD CONTROLis a synergistic blend of organic acids and surfactants. Organic acids reduce moulds to maintain the nutrient value and prolong the shelf life of raw materials, compound animal feed.
